What You’ll Be Responsible For

We seek an experienced commercial, capital markets, M&A attorney to lead our legal transaction work. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, you will build a legal support team to drive USDC and EURC adoption in global capital markets and handle strategic legal matters.

What You'll Work On

• Partner with the global capital markets business development team.
• Draft, negotiate, and structure third-party commercial agreements.
• Enhance contract processes by developing and expanding templates and terms.
• Manage legal risks through strategic solutions that resolve issues, foster relationships, and identify opportunities.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate contract workflows.
• Contribute to the success of Circle Legal and its Transaction team.

What You’ll Bring To Circle

• 10+ years of legal experience in commercial and/or M&A law, including 5+ years with ISDA master agreements, clearing agreements, and prime brokerage agreements in capital markets.
• Strong background in public and private company mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions, ideally from a law firm setting.
• Preferred 5+ years at U.S. Tier 1 law firms.
• Passion for blockchain technology and its potential to revolutionize financial services.
• Strategic mindset to align legal expertise with Circle’s goals.
• Excellent communication skills to clarify complex ideas for clients.
• Business-oriented approach, collaborating effectively across teams.
• High accountability and ownership of decisions.
• JD from a top law school (preferably T-14 or with honors) and active bar membership.
• Familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, Google Workspace, and ChatGPT.

Circle is committed to creating an inclusive financial future. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and organizational needs. Our salary range for this role is $257,500 - $322,500.
