The Audit Specialist is responsible for executing internal audit and consulting engagements as assigned. This role assists the design and testing of controls over financial reporting, including Model Audit Rule. The Specialist also assists the Internal Audit team in completing testing for external auditors and will also work directly with external auditors during annual audits and regulators during periodic examinations to provide insight and support for their audits and examinations. This position actively promotes risk management awareness throughout the Enterprise.

What you will do:

  • Obtain and examine documentation to ensure compliance with external audit testing attributes.
  • Ensure controls are suitably designed and implemented.
  • Participate in annual scoping and testing processes.
  • Discuss business issues with management.
  • Establish and monitor targets for quality and productivity.
  • Recommend and monitor effective remediation plans for issues/findings.
  • Partner with other auditors and business unit associates to complete assurance and consulting audit engagements.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • 1-3 years of related experience (includes internships) Accounting, Audit or related experience.
  • Demonstrated independent judgment and self-confidence
  • Possess a strong understanding of the business, relevant risks, key measures/metrics, and drivers
  • Ability to manage responsibilities in a manner that fosters stakeholder trust and strong business relationships
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
