Data Center Engineering (DCE)- Security Products and Services team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Security Systems Engineer. In this role, you are responsible for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting security systems, including IP surveillance cameras, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and all other security facing systems as needed. This role requires a blend of technical network expertise with a deep understanding of physical security technology and industry standards. Scope of work includes complex integrations of security systems involving multiple teams inside and outside the organization. Also, the duties include security system design and engineering, working with the data center architectural and engineering teams to assure security best practices are observed, drafting new systems into the design teams build plans and specifications, and coordinating with regional and local physical security leaders to understand the new building and security system designs.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and engineer comprehensive security systems incorporating access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies
- Collaborate with data center architectural and engineering teams to integrate security requirements into facility designs
- Develop technical specifications and build plans for security system implementations
- Partner with regional and local physical security leaders to align security solutions with facility requirements
- Lead complex system integration projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Evaluate new security technologies and recommend solutions that enhance facility protection
- Create detailed technical documentation for security systems and configurations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational security policies
- Provide technical guidance to project teams during implementation phases
- Domestic and international travel approximately 25% of the time

You collaborate with your team to deliver projects. You identify and communicate issues associated with the design, development, and modification of data center technologies and their implementation. You seek to learn the business context and the technologies that make up our global infrastructure architecture. You work effectively with peer engineers and internal partners to understand their needs and identify any opportunities/problems arising from technical decisions. You invent, refine, and develop solutions to ensure they are meeting business needs and team goals. You are a passionate advocate for your customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Security or related technical field
- 8+ years experience in security systems, integration, hardware development engineering or similar role
- 3+ year experience in IP networking, including TCP/IP protocols and network architecture related to physical security systems
- 3+ years experience in experience with enterprise security systems (Access Control, Video Management, Intrusion Detection, Mass Notification)
- 3+ years experience with security industry standards and best practices (NIST, ISO, ONVIF)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in relevant field
- Professional security certifications (PSP, CPP, CISSP)
- Experience with data center or critical infrastructure security
- Knowledge of building management systems and integration protocols
- Experience in AutoCAD or similar design software
- Familiarity with cloud security architectures
- Experience with API integration and secure programming concepts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
