About Us

PlumpJack Wine & Spirits’ boutique wine shop spans two locations in San Francisco. Established in 1992, our flagship store in Marina specializes in a vast collection of wines from around the world, including rare library wines. We also partner with American Whiskey distillers to produce exclusive barrel selections. We offer over 9 clubs for wine, spirits, champagne, and beer, catering to all enthusiasts.

Purpose Of The Role

To ensure smooth and efficient store operations, providing the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities

  1. Hire, train, support, and review employees, maintaining high morale and productivity while adhering to HAP.
  2. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, bank deposits, and store maintenance, in accordance with policies and laws.
  3. Lead by example in greeting customers and assisting with product selection, providing educational experiences and exemplary service.
  4. Oversee receiving deliveries, invoices, and maintaining a well-stocked sales floor.
  5. Manage back stock organization, ensuring proper storage and rotation of products.
  6. Oversee inventory levels of wine, beer, and liquor, and assist with purchasing decisions.
  7. Manage club member accounts and subscriptions across various channels, driving enrollment and revenue.
  8. Track store tasks, sales, orders, and upcoming initiatives, setting and monitoring goals.
  9. Develop and update Store SOPs in collaboration with staff.
  10. Assist in meeting revenue and COGS goals, and lead annual inventory procedures.
  11. Create a positive team environment that is fun, competitive, and inviting.
  12. Educate staff on products through tastings and budgets.
  13. Represent and promote The PlumpJack Group at events and in the community.
  14. Perform additional tasks, including cross-training, as needed.

Minimum Candidate Requirements

  1. At least 5 years of retail management experience.
  2. Knowledge and passion for wine, spirits, and beer.
  3. Intermediate computer skills and multitasking ability.
  4. Familiarity with local health regulations and liquor laws.
  5. Proven ability to train staff, detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
  6. Strong communication skills, diplomatic, and calm demeanor.
  7. Courteous, friendly, professional, and a team player.
  8. Customer service focused, trustworthy, and reliable.

Working Conditions

Primarily indoors in a retail environment, with outdoor assistance during deliveries or customer interactions. Sitting and standing/walking approximately 50% each shift.
